Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information IDM Lover collects when you visit this website, why, and what choices you have. We’ve tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate.

Information we collect automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider and any analytics tool we use may automatically log standard technical information: your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is used in aggregate to understand which guides are useful, which languages are most visited, and where technical issues occur, it is not used to identify you personally.

Cookies. We may use minimal cookies for basic site functionality (such as remembering your preferred language) and, if analytics are enabled, to distinguish returning visitors from new ones in aggregate reporting. We do not use cookies for cross-site ad tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time; doing so will not prevent you from reading any guide on this site.

Information you provide directly. If you email us through our contact page, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message (typically your email address and the content of your question). We use this solely to respond to you and, where relevant, to improve the guide you’re writing about. We do not sell or rent this information to third parties.

Third-party links and embedded content. Our guides link to official resources such as the Chrome Web Store listing for the IDM Integration Module, and embed a locally-hosted video file. We do not embed third-party video players or ad networks that track you across other sites. If you follow an outbound link, that destination site’s own privacy policy applies once you leave IDM Lover.

Children’s privacy. This site is intended for a general adult and teen technology-user audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data retention and security. Server logs and any analytics data are retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above and are protected using standard hosting-provider security practices. No online transmission or storage method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect any information we hold.

Your rights. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you (for example, emails you’ve sent us). To exercise these rights, contact us at the address on our contact page.

Changes to this policy. We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves; the “last updated” context for this page is reflected in our sitemap’s lastmod value. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
